What is Permaculture?

Permaculture comes from the words ‘permanent agriculture’ and ‘permanent culture’ and is based on the ethics of earth care, people care and fair share. It is an integrated, whole systems approach to designing for sustainability in both urban and rural settings. By following permaculture design principles we can make our houses, gardens, farms, local economies and communities more stable, energy efficient and low maintenance. Using good design means less work and more fun!
